Empire Enhanced Mod is a mod by ArkosTW for the turn-based strategy game Empire: Total War - Download. This utility is a combination of multiple mods that aim to enhance the base game while still preserving the vanilla feel. It features the mods Empire Reborn, Sound Mod, All Factions and Start Dates, and Terrestria Orbem.

Empire Enhanced Mod is made for players who want to enhance the base game without straying too far from the vanilla experience. This mod pack rebalances units and systems, improves visuals and sounds, and makes all factions playable regardless of the campaign start date.

Four mods in one

ArktosTW combined three other Empire: Total War mods plus his own to create Empire Enhanced Mod, which is intended as an enhancement that doesn’t add overwhelming changes. The biggest among the mods is Empire Reborn, a light overhaul that reworks unit rosters for all major factions, reworks recruitment for land and naval units, adds 40 new units, adds new textures and unit icon/ portraits, rebalances unit types, and reworks technology.

For graphics and sound enhancements, Sound Mod and Terrestria Orbem are included. The former replaces all vanilla music, sounds of muskets, cannons, and battle cries, and adds light effects for weapons. The latter improves the visual fidelity by changing the textures of trees, mountains, roads, and the strategic map, while also adding some shaders. ArktosTW’s mod that makes all factions playable is the cherry on top.

This mod pack doesn’t include anything that alters AI behavior, but playing against the AI feels noticeably better because of excellent unit balancing. Empire Reborn’s reworks seem significant, but they don’t stray far from the vanilla design. Most of all, the entire pack is compatible with multiplayer. Unfortunately, the pack doesn’t feature plenty of bug fixes so issues from the base game can persist.

Is it worth playing?

If you love vanilla Empire: Total War but want some gameplay enhancements, Empire Enhanced mod is worth installing. It makes the game significantly more enjoyable without making it feel like an entirely different game by adding subtle yet quality changes. You will need to install other mods if you want more bug fixes, but this mod provides a smooth experience overall.
